MobiPDF, formerly known as PDF Extra, is a program that allows you to read, create, edit, merge, and export PDF files from a single platform.
However, its shareware version has very limited features, since it does not allow working directly in your documents, and to request a trial version, you need to enter your credit card number. This essentially forces you to purchase the Ultimate or Premium versions once the trial period ends. This is one of the major drawbacks of the shareware version: you cannot edit, modify, share, or print your PDF files using this version. Every time you want to perform any of these actions, a “nag screen” appears, asking you to request a trial period. You can only write, highlight, and add some elements. Consequently, I feel the shareware version does not provide the necessary tools to effectively work with PDF files. It's also subscription-based, which may be a disadvantage for some.
I didn’t encounter any issues while using the program. It is fast, flashy, and easy to understand as it closely resembles other PDF handling programs. Each tool comes with a dialog box outlining its functions, which can be particularly useful for novice users.
All in all, downloading this version just to ascertain if the program works for you and deciding if you wish to purchase one of its paid versions could be worthwhile.
